Argentina could expect 55% inflation in 2019

The 2016 budget prepared by the team of former President Cristina Kirchner established a limited 14.5% inflation for that year. Mauricio Macri’s victory changed plans and forecasts. Although the new President and his finance minister, Alfonso Prat-Gay, recalculated the forecast between 20 and 25 points, 2016 closed with increases of 41%. The largest offsets occurred in 2018 and 2019. The 2019 budget expected inflation of 23 points, but shortly before the end of the year it is estimated at 55%.
