Argentine farmer selling falls 60% on year, 9% on week

Argentina’s farmers continued to sell grains and oilseeds at a sluggish pace last week with export licence applications remaining slow in a week marked by the government’s closure of the export licence registration system, official data showed. Weekly farmer sales totalled 1.41 million mt across both old and new-crop corn, soybeans and wheat. That compared with 1.55 million mt in the previous week, and with 3.56 million mt in the equivalent week last year.
