The government says it needs to have the $170 billion that Argentines treasure. Any government, no matter how biased, requires that a portion of the treasured dollar be put back into circulation in the economy. 10% of that treasure channelled into domestic spending or investment could improve the economy, and gives an idea of what the economy is missing, and a reminder to policymakers. The truth is that Argentines who have saved in dollars outside the system did so for a reason.
