Unconventional oil production to grow 22% in 2020
Unconventional oil production grew by almost 22% last year, reaching 19,050 m3/day; in 2019, production reached 15,642 m3/day. The companies leading this segment's activity were YPF, Shell, Pan American Energy and Vista Oil.
Pampa Energía to increase gas production by 28% for the winter
Oil company Pampa Energía will increase its gas production by 28% for the winter. The oil company awarded up to 1 million additional cubic metres per day at a value of $4.68 per million BTU in the framework of the bidding process of the so-called Round II of the Gas.Ar Plan. This price is considerably lower than the $8.50 per million BTU of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) imports.
With an investment of $8 million, Hilton will open a hotel in the north of the city
Hilton will build an international hotel with 76 rooms in the Palmas Park Buenavista complex, at kilometre 22 of the Panamerican Highway, in the San Fernando district. The planned investment in the Hilton Garden Inn Buenos Aires Norte amounts to $8 million. The work will be undertaken by local developers TRG and BPC.
For OECD, Argentina will grow 4.6%
The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) estimated that the Argentine economy will grow 4.6% this year and that it will also improve in 2022. However, for next year, the growth projection is lower: 2.1%.
Soybeans: international price surpassed $530/ton
The drought in the core area reached the red alert, 60% of the lots are in fair to poor condition in Argentina's main production area, and a significant decline in yields expected. Meanwhile, the markets continue to rise; soybeans quotes at $530 per ton, the best value in the last seven years.
