The renewable energy company Genneia has pocketed $31 million as the first tranche of a $465 million corporate loan granted by the German Development Bank kfW. It will be destined for the Pomona II wind power plants that are already in operation and Chubut Norte II wind farm that is under construction and is estimated to be operational in September. Genneia owns 4 projects in Argentina: Rawson III, Villalonga II, Pomona II and Chubut Norte II, with an installed capacity of 66.48 MW
Loma Blanca 2 project, part of the total 250MW four-part Loma Blanca complex in Argentina’s Chubut province, is now running and connected to the grid, said Xinjiang Goldwind Science & Technology (HKG:2208). The Chinese wind turbine company began work on Loma Blanca and the 98MW Miramar project, Buenos Aires province, in 2018 with compatriot EPC group Power China after acquiring the wind farms under China’s ‘Belt and Road’ global infrastructure strategy.
Five turbines of the first wind power project in the Argentine province of Neuquén will start generating electricity at the end of March, according to AES, the USA company leading the $140 million project with capacity to generate 100 MW. In June, all 29 wind turbines of Neuquinos I Winds will be operational, as agreed with Nordex Acciona, the firm that hired AES for the work.
